  • Champion the Developmental Impact of High Quality Camp Experiences: Showcase how camp experiences build character, confidence, resilience, and college/career readiness, all in an unplugged environment.

Our ACA Government Affairs Volunteer Leadership:

  • Scott Brody, our Government Affairs co-chair, leads our efforts in DC.

  • He was the ACA National Board Chair during the Covid crisis and led our professionals and volunteers to help camps across America to re-open safely while securing an unprecedented level of financial support from Congress to help camps survive during this challenging time.

  • He has been a camp director for 30 years, and is the Director Emeritus of Camps Kenwood & Evergreen, and owner of Everwood Day Camp and and Camp Sewataro.

  • Scott has dedicated his life to the power of camp, helping children grow into confident, capable, and connected adults while championing the cause of camp on a national stage.

The Congressional Camp Caucus is designed to unite lawmakers who understand the importance and life-changing impact of high quality camp experiences.By joining forces, the caucus will:Provide a platform in Congress to highlight the impact of camps on 26 million children and their families.Educate members about the federal and state policies that protect and expand access to camp opportunities.Highlight the vital role camps play in workforce development, college readiness, character development, child mental health, and the strengthening of America’s communities.
